The current SCHULTE & MAHON - MURPHY Funeral Homes began with the merger of two individual funeral homes with a combined history of over 125 years of services to the people of greater Cleveland. The JOSEPH C. SCHULTE Funeral Homes, with a main office in South Euclid, Ohio and branches in Cleveland, Ohio and branches in Lyndhurst and Chesterland, Ohio was purchased by The MAHON - MURPHY Funeral Home of East Cleveland, Ohio to form the current operation in 1975. With service to the families and beautiful facilities to compliment those services, SCHULTE & MAHON - MURPHY Funeral Homes are currently noted as being one of Cleveland's finest and caring facilities.

The completion of a completely new facility in 1992 Lyndhurst, Ohio heralded the addition of the Nicol-Wells-Kloss Funeral Home and The David Melbourne Chapman Funeral Service to the business. While each funeral home is family owned and operated, the combination of three leading mortuaries from the Greater Cleveland area allows for greater attention to details and services to families in their time of need.

The business currently operates out of the main facility at 5252 Mayfield Rd., Lyndhurst, with the branch office and facility located at 4090 Mayfield Rd., South Euclid. There is also the availability of facilities throughout the Greater Cleveland/Akron areas to serve families who have come to appreciate the service, sincerity and quality of a funeral from SCHULTE & MAHON - MURPHY Funeral Homes. Today, the funeral homes offer complete services for traditional funerals, funerals followed by cremation, graveside services, shipping arrangements and direct cremations with memorial services. The directors are well-trained professionals who consider each funeral an individual tribute to the life of the deceased, and the relationship that we establish allows us to serve individuals of all faiths, ethnic backgrounds and traditional and non-traditional family life styles. We offer after the funeral visitation and services, and a beautiful community room for groups and clubs to hold the meetings or gatherings. We offer an extended display of caskets, vaults and all merchandise related to the funeral business directly in our Lyndhurst facility.
